Adapted Bowling Champs!
The adapted bowling team finished the year in grand style on Friday, May 17, as they brought home the first place trophy for team, second place medals for doubles, and a seventh place medal for singles. The day began with singles competition. All six teammates, Riley Huppert, Jenny Huppert, Eric Harvey, Lana Parsons, Brittany Plank, and Matthew Bignell, competed for individual medals. Eric (with a season average of 94) brought home what was to be the first medal of the day, when he bowled a 112 and 148. This was enough to earn him a seventh place medal. Several of the other bowlers bowled above their averages, but didn't place in the top ten. Riley (average of 109) bowled a 119 and 131. Matthew (average of 48) bowled a 84 and 69. Lana (average of 61) bowled a 72 and 78. Brittany (average of 76) bowled a 64 and 115. Jenny did not quite get her average in singles but made up for it in team competition later in the day. The doubles competition was next. Lana Parsons and Matthew Bignell bowled in the doubles competition for the team. Lana bowled a whopping 104 and 95! Her doubles partner, Matthew, bowled two huge scores of 70 in his two games. These great scores earned them the second place medal in the state! The final competition was the four person team of Riley, Jenny, Eric and Brittany. The team was on fire! Jenny (season average of 84) led the charge by bowling a phenomenal 134 and 158! Teammate Eric also added scores of 99 and 159. Both Brittany and Riley bowled games above their averages too, with Brittany adding a 78 and 106 to the team score, and Riley adding a 118 and 112. The compilation of these awesome scores resulted in a first place trophy! Congrats to all of the bowlers on a superb ending to a great season!
