Mr. Eric Stashek serves as the Lincoln High School Director of Bands. In this capacity he directs the Lake City Wind Ensemble, Cadet Band, Junior Band, the Jazz Studio and Jazz Lab Ensembles, Pep Band, Pit Orchestra, the award-winning Lake City Tiger Marching Band, and teaches studio lessons. In addition to the performing ensembles, he also hosts as series of local and regional band festivals and honor bands including hosting the Lake City Junior Band Festival – the longest running mid-level band festival in the state of Minnesota. Mr. Stashek also resides on the SEMBDA board of directors serving the Jazz Honor Coordinator. Additionally, he is active in the music education community as a presenter at Minnesota Music Educators Association and Wisconsin Music Educators Association conferences.
Mr. Eric Stashek earned a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental and General Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His mentors are Dr. Brandan Caldwell, Dr. Patrick Lawrence, and Dr. Judy Bond. While at UWSP, Mr. Stashek held the collegiate roles of President of NAfME, Vice-President of MTNA, Webmaster of Delta Omicron, Conducting Seminar Coordinator, and the Collegiate Representative for the North Central Wisconsin Orff Chapter. Notably, Mr. Stashek was awarded the prestigious Chancellors Leadership Award for his contribution of exceptional leadership in music education during his career at UWSP.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Stashek is also an active music performer. He is a member of a number of ensembles including the Rochester Community Band, Mill Creek Ramblers, Jolly 8, Uptown Jazz, Upstairs Jazz, Snacklebox ,and Loud Mouth Brass. Within Loud Mouth Brass, Stashek serves as a primary arranger and a composer for the fresh style of New Orleans Brass Band Music, having recorded and released four albums.
