Beginning in the fall of 2008, students in grades 9-12 began participating in the Tiger PRIDE Advisory Program. The Tiger PRIDE Advisory Program meets two-three times/week throughout the school year. Each advisor will is matched with the same 12-16 students in their advisory period over the school year. Advisory periods will focus on developing students Academic, Personal/Social, and Career Development skills.

Major components of the program include a student portfolio and student led conferences in the spring. All students will complete a portfolio that will be used to present during their student led conferences in the spring. These portfolios will include artifacts used throughout the advisory periods and will be centered on the three key areas.

Finally, the main purposes of this advisory program is to build stronger relationships throughout the school, provide curriculum and activities that meet some of the needs of students that do not always get met in an academic class, and provide a more personalized approach to education for each individual student. Personalization of the school is one of the most important features of highly successful schools and we hope our advisory program will allow us to better reach the diverse needs of all students in Lake City.
