Fall Season Parent/Athlete/Coach Meeting set for August 9


On Thursday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium there will be a Fall Sports Parent/Athlete/Coach Meeting. This meeting is for student/athletes in grades 7 thru 12 who plan to participate in Fall sports and their parents.  Those students who do not participate in Fall sports along with all members of the community are also welcome to attend. Mr. Vaith will go through a variety of information starting at 7:00 p.m. followed by featured speaker for the evening University of Minnesota Athletics Director, Mark Coyle. Coyle, who was an administrator at Minnesota from 2001 to 2005, returned to Gopher Athletics in 2016 after serving as Athletics Director at Syracuse University and Boise State University and as deputy Athletics Director at the University of Kentucky.

Following our guest speaker each Fall sport will have separate team meetings.  Coach Narum and his coaching staff will be meeting with the Football team, Head Coaches Kirk Thornton and Al Orthaus will be meeting with the Volleyball and Girl’s Tennis programs, Head Coach Alydia Zemke will lead the Girls Soccer meeting, Head Coach Patrick Palmer will meet with the Boys Soccer players and parents and Coach Cook will address the Cross Country program. Cheerleading Coach Grace Cebulla will also be meeting with the Cheer Squad at this time. Coaches will go through their team handbooks, season schedules and answer any questions parents may have. These meetings give parents the opportunity to meet coaches and learn more about the program their child is involved in.

To register for Fall sports parents and student athletes should complete the Online Activities/Athletic Registration by going to  Parents are highly encouraged to follow this process online. If parents choose come to the Activities Office to register their child, a laptop or computer will be available for registration. Fees can also be paid online.  If you prefer to pay by check (written to ISD 813) or cash can be dropped off in the Activities Office.  The Activities Office will reopen on Monday, August 7 at 7:30 am. 

All seniors (from Fall, Winter and Spring sports) are asked to be arrive starting at 6:15 p.m. to take individual pictures which will be displayed in businesses throughout Lake City, Zumbro Falls, Frontenac and Oak Center. This is sponsored by the Athletic Booster Club. We will also have letter jacket and accessories for sale in the foyer on this night.
