9th Grade Focus

The 9th grade year may be the most important year in high school. It is the first year that high school credits count. Students are often still searching for their identity and trying to determine goals that reach beyond today. Research shows that the most successful schools in the country have a strong focus on the 9th grade year in an effort to ensure students get off to a great start in high school. At Lincoln High School we have put a tremendous effort into making the 9th grade year successful. Some of these efforts include:

9th Grade Orientation with parents and students to begin school year.
9th Grade Advisory Program
9th Grade teachers involved a Professional Learning Communities
9th Grade Leadership Retreat for all 9th graders
Structured Study Hall in place for at-risk students
High support Math lasses with heavy use of adult volunteers
After School Support program for 9th grade students
College Visit for ALL 9th grade students

We hope these initiatives along with many others will help all of our 9th grade students have a successful beginning to their high school career.
