For the second year in a row, Lincoln HS made the Washington Post Challenge Index. Lincoln HS ranked #21 out of only 26 MN school districts to make the list. See the link at Challenge Index 2012. The 2012 list is based on 2011 Advanced Placement tests.
FIRST Robotics Qualifies for 1st Ever State Tournament! The 2012 Lake City First Robotics Team (Infinity's End) was one of 24 Minnesota teams to qualify for the first ever Minnesota State High School League State Robotics Tournament!
Patton Award Winners!
Lincoln Winners of the Patton Scholarship and Award for 2012 were Chelsie Wohlers and Justin Siewert.
Lincoln High School may have had its best year ever in terms of student achievement! The class of 2012 earned the highest ACT average in the history of our school! The class of 2014 earned the highest PLAN test results in the history of Lincoln High School! The 2012 MCA Science averages for grades 8 and Biology were some of the best in Southeast MN! In addition to these great results, Lincoln had a record number of students pass Advanced Placement exams, the highest CLEP passage rate we have ever had, strong MMR ratings from the state of MN, the highest number of AP scholars, and a National Merit Scholar! IN summary, Lincoln High School, our student, teachers, and community have a lot to be proud of!
Baseball - Conference Champions!
The Lincoln High School Baseball team won the HVL (Blue) conference this season.
Education 21 iPad Initiative
The Lake City School Board approved a plan to purchase iPad's for the 2012 school year for all 9th grade students! Teachers have been working hard to prepare for this tremendous 21st century learning tool!
Girls Track Qualifies for Tru-Team State
Lincoln High School Girls Track Team took 3rd place at the Tru-Team State tournament!
Adapted Bowling State!
Megan Keller earned a 2nd place finish in the State Adapted Bowling competition and Justina Blasi finished 9th! The team finished 9th overall!
National Merit Scholars!
Lincoln High School had two students recognized by the National Merit program in 2011-12. Amelia Books was recognized as National Merit Semi-Finalist. Melanie Robbins received a commendation by the National Merit organization.
Professional Learning Communities (PLC's)
Lake City teachers completed year two of PLC's.
Lincoln Band Instructor, Paul Holland, wrote and received a grant to bring famed musician, Anne Drummond, for an Artist Residency on April 19-21. Ms. Drummond worked with our Lincoln band members and performed multiple concerts in the Lake City area during her stay!
Amelia Brooks takes 2nd in State in the Informative category at the State Speech Competition!
Brandy Geolat, Sami Smith and Cole Becker qualified for state BPA!
Student Led Conferences
Over 90% of students in grades 9-12 participated in Student Led Conferences with their parents and advisors this past spring.
FFA State Poultry Team
Allison Harvey, Emily Moechnig, Colton Heisler, Victoria Leonard qualified for the state FFA contest as a Poultry Team.
FFA State Meats Team
Mark Klenke, Layne Heins, Liz Lee, Brad Klennert, Emily Cordes qualified for the state FFA contest as a Poultry Team.
The Tiger Dance Team placed 4th at the State Tournament this past winter!
Tiger wrestlers, Will Balow (5th), Rusty Grism (4th), Pedro Guevera (4th) and Andrew Schmidt qualified for the state wrestling tournament!
Construction Contest Winners
Ben Hinck and Justin Siewert won the area construction contest held in Austin this past winter.
Football - Conference Champions!
The Lincoln High School Football team won the HVL (Gold) conference title this season.
AP Scholars for 2010-11
Lincoln High School had a record 8 AP Scholars from the 2010-11 school year.
AP Scholar with Distinction from 2011
Lincoln High School had one AP Scholar with Distinction from 2011.
State Tennis Tournament
Lincoln Junior Amy Orthaus qualified for the State Tennis Tournament this past fall.
State Cross Country Tournament
Carston Damman qualified for the state cross country tournament in the fall of 2011.
College Credits Earned
Lincoln Seniors (Class of 2011) earned approximately 462 college credits during their high school career! These credits came from out two concurrent college courses, eight Advanced Placement courses, and multiple CLEP exams given!
Building Project Complete!
The two-year long, $22 Million building renovation project is complete! Lincoln High School now has a newly renovated High School!
