The Infrastructure
Lake City Public School

The Lake City Public School District provides its staff and students with access to three (3) wired/wireless networks.  These include Data, Video and Voice.

Data

Throughout the school district staff and students have access to a minimum of 1 gb. of data services.  This includes access to all computers, servers, printers and other connected resources.

A high-speed internet connection is available throughout both buildings.  Our single network infrastructure joins the two buildings together with a fiber optic link.  The school buildings are physically about one mile apart.  This allows for both buildings to share the same network and resources.

Video

All locations in the school district have access to cable TV and/or an internal video signal.  We maintain a small cable TV plant internally to provide all the local cable TV stations.  We also have our building security surveillance system and building to building video link all connecting to our cable TV plant.  We have  various locations of our school district buildings to provide internal and external links to allow for live broadcasting and recording of the Lake City Public Schools events.

Voice

The staff has voice access internally with four digit dialing anywhere within the district.  They also have voice dialing anywhere within the United States right from their desks.  All employees have voicemail features with an added benefit, that their voicemail can transfer to their email.  All incoming calls are provided with direct lines coming in from outside the district.  All these features are programmable with built-in software.
